Councillor Collins is also serving his second period as a member of the Council. This second term commenced in May 1999. He served as Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee from its inception until May 2006. He is a former member of Birmingham, Meriden and Solihull Councils and also Mayor of Solihull.

Councillor Derrick is the longest continuously serving member of the Council having been originally elected in May 1987 and re-elected on five further occasions. He has served as Chairman of the Council on two occasions.

Claudette Glave was co-opted on to the Council in March 2005 and re-elected in May 2007. She is the Council's representative on the committee of the Fordbridge Club for Young People.

Cathy McLaughlin was co-opted on to the Council in April 2002 and subsequently re-elected in 2003 and May 2007.Cathy has been elected as Vice Chairman of the Environmental Health and Recreation Committee for 2009/2010.She is a former Chairman of the Environment,Health and Recreation Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Council.

Alan Nash was co-opted on the Council in November 2002 and re-elected in 2003 and May 2007.He is currently Chairman of the Council and its Finance and General Purposes Committee. He also represents the ward of Kingshurst and Fordbridge on Solihull Council. Alan is a former Mayor of Solihull.
