The Fordbridge Centre
Fordbridge Town Council is proud to present the ideal venue for staging the special celebrations and events in your life.
The Fordbridge Centre was originally built in 1986 to provide a much needed facility for the local community. Use of the building increased rapidly and the Centre was expanded in 1988 to try and accommodate the demand. The number of groups using the building has grown over the years as the Centre has become an integral part of the local community.
The Town Council decided that a further extension was required to further increase the size of the main hall to provide a stage, a lounge area, space to provide a bar, a larger kitchen and dedicated meeting rooms. The newly extended and refurbished Fordbridge Centre opened to the public in April 2005 and its popularity has continued to grow since then. The Centre is the home for a number of local community groups including some which have used the building for over 25 years and one was the second to use the building.
The Centre is also used by many local people for numerous private functions and celebrations and by various organisations for meetings and events. For more information about the Centre please read on.
The Fordbridge Centre is available for hire at extremely competitive rates and caters for functions ranging from children's parties to wedding receptions and special birthday parties. There are also facilities available to stage meetings, conferences and training events.
The main hall includes a small stage area and can accommodate 140 people. There is fixed seating to one side of the room and discreet down lighting. The main hall adjoins a comfortable lounge area which includes the fully licensed bar serving a range of beers, wines and spirits.
The Centre has recently been extended and refurbished and is self-contained ensuring an intimate occasion for you and your guests.
The Centre also benefits from a patio area leading from the lounge area with newly installed seating and large grounds to the rear of the building. The grounds allow children to play safely when the weather allows and is an added benefit if you are looking to hold a children's party at the venue. A bouncy castle or similar can easily be accommodated within the grounds. Parents are however advised that the grounds are not completely enclosed and therefore parental supervision will still be required.
Disabled access is provided together with a private car park for 33 vehicles including two dedicated disabled parking spaces. If the room is required for a meeting, a hearing loop system is also available.
The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped including a range style cooker and microwave. There is continuous boiling water from the catering urn and ample space for food preparation. The kitchen also includes cups, saucers and plates. The kitchen can be used when staging meetings or functions when the bar is not required. Food can also be prepared in the kitchen prior to evening functions. Unfortunately the kitchen is not available when the bar is open.
The Centre is able to offer a catering service to reduce your workload and enhance your function. Catering can be provided for any occasion, parties, events or meetings. If catering is required then the Clerk to the Council will be able to provide you with the relevant contact details.
